Policies and other Notes:
EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 2013: All Members before joining the group are required to agree to the disclaimer below, provided below for your preview prior to joining. This is a requirement to attend HDF events.
Members who do not agree to the disclaimer when applying may be declined from joining.
As an active member of High Desert Friends I hereby pledge to portray a standard of behavior during all Meetup events based on the following: I will not act in a reckless manner that brings unnecessary risks (physical or disreputable) to the group name or individual(s) therein. I will express general respect for my fellow members and to the public during events. I will not engage in or actively promote any activity deemed illegal by law. I declare that I take personal responsibility for my actions during events; I release from liability and do not hold accountable other members, leaders, and organizers of High Desert Friends any consequences of said actions. My agreement herein represents my understanding that failure to abide by this disclaimer is grounds for immediate removal from the group.
-Most of our events will involve social drinking. I am completely non discriminant toward those who do not drink, but if being around those who drink socially is something which discomforts you, this is something to consider.
-RSVP's are taken seriously. If you say you are coming to an event, you are expected attend. If you are unable to attend after saying yes, you must change your RSVP to a no with a disposition as to why. It is ok to do this any time up until the event begins (unless otherwise noted) however, no-showing with the excuse "I forgot that I said I was coming" is not acceptable. THREE offenses are subject to removal from the group.
-Members are encouraged to contribute event ideas and post things you want to do in addition to events already on the page. This group is by the people for the people. If you know of something fun to try (preferably local), suggest it!
-Remember, if you join, you are expected to participate.
