How long have you been building websites?

A friend showed me HTML in 1999. At that time I lived right next to a Barnes and Noble, where I used to read HTML books a couple nights a week, and then went home and practiced on my room-mates computer. I started learning PHP and the LAMP stack in 2001, and picked up Javascript in 2002. I have been building websites professionally since 2003.

Do you use a CMS, if so, which one?

When I first started building websites professionally, I had my own homegrown CMS that I had written. In 2006 I found Drupal and I haven't turned back since. In my search for my CMS of choice, I had built sites with Mambo, Joomla, Wordpress, and also Symfony. After all that experimenting I stuck with Drupal.

Do you prefer pancakes or cereal for breakfast?

This is a question that comes up often in the ActiveLAMP office. I prefer cereal, Lucky Charms or Frosted Mini Wheats ;-)

Introduction

I'm a web developer at ActiveLAMP. I used to work as a systems administrator for a mortgage bank, managing servers and workstations. I love to code and I love managing servers. My day job allows me to do both, definitely a win win.
