Jordan Wine Tour

[NOTE: SATURDAY HIKE]

Trail: Jordan Wine Tour
Hike Leader: Howard Gibson

Please check our schedule for updates: http://hphc.ca/Schedule.html.

Directions and trip detail:
http://www.hphc.ca/JordanWine.html

On this trip, we will hike out to Calamus Estate Winery. We will stop for lunch at Balls Falls, then head back.

There are some other wineries in the area worth a visit. I like Stoney Ridge Winery on King Street, east of Jordan. I also checked out Di Profio Wines, south of Jordan, on 19th street.

Additional Note:

As noted, we usually go for a refreshment after the hike. Sometimes we even stay for dinner. This is not compulsory, but it does add to the fun. There are many nice restaurants out in the countryside, it is a good opportunity to experience their fine fares. I would like to extend an invitation to all the hikers: whether you are a drivers or a passenger, when you sign up for the hike, please plan on joining us for some social afterwards. If you must rush back to Toronto, please make it known at carpool time, so that we can group the drivers and passengers together.

Our membership form is up on the internet You can print it off and either mail it in, or bring it to the hike.

Hiking is a dangerous activity; each participant agrees to assume his/her own risks. If you are new to hiking, please start with a Level 1 hike. Hike leader's decision is final.

See you on the trail.

Excellent... Beautiful landscape and the falls were gorgeous. Terrifically organized and lead by Howard. A bit of snow squall and a whole lot of sunshine, a bit of wine tasting and hearty pub grub, topped off in the company of good folks, must be the High Park Hiking Club. See u all next Sunday for the last one of the season.

I plan to arrive at Calmus at around 1:00pm. If we hike quickly, I may take a crack at Featherstone winery.

Hi, what time do you think we'll be back in Toronto

    November 21, 2013

    • Howard G.

Fairly late unless you leave immediately at the end of the hike. I was planning to eat at the Jordan Inn, which is up the street from the start and end of the hike. If we lave at 6:30 to 7:00pm, we get back at 8:000pm to 9:00pm. I want to end the hike fairly earl.y because it will get dark early.

Hello what time is the meeting in Jordan I live in the west end so does not make sense to meet at york mills thanks

    November 17, 2013

    • Jonathan

It will be fairly short :-)

(ie no more than 10 km)

since it is late in the season, and we don't want to be caught out on the trail after dark.

      (ie. finished by 3~3:30 pm)

    • Jonathan

ps. I will ask the hike leader to post more specific numbers on the website. Please stay tuned. Thank you.
