We need to coordinate online so drivers come to York Mills to ensure there are enough drivers to accomodate the passengers.

It was a great day of beautiful weather, amazing scenery, fun people and good food. Until we meet again on Sunday. Highly recommend long sleeve shirts and pants. The mosquitoes still bite me even though I had garlic.

A thoroughly enjoyable day...the trail was scenic with lots of photo ops, a most affable group of hikers, and perfect weather - we couldn't ask for more! Thanks to Maureen for organizing the event and Mae for sweeping (and whose garlic kept the bugs away.)

Had a great time. Thanks Maureen for a wonderful hike. Mae did a fine job of sweep. The terrain was varied and the walk along the escarpment was beautiful. I hope that Maureen will do this hike in the fall once the colours turn. Cheers everyone.

Hi are there any drivers picking up from Kipling? If there is a delay due to repairs on the Northbound I may not be able to reach Yorkmills in less than an hour. Sunday subway starts at 9 a.m. but there may be a Blue line bus riding across the surface and I will check in case all are being picked up at north end of city. Let me know. Thanks!

TTC is doing track repairs between Eglinton to Bloor this weekend. There is a shuttle bus on Yonge. So add some time to your travel.

Do you know how many km ? Just curious to know . Thanks

    May 29, 2014

    • Jonathan

Most of our hikes are between 10~15 km. If you are of average fitness and mobility, you should be able to manage. We give ample warnings for our difficult hikes; in the absence of a warning, you can assume it is an average hike.

    May 31, 2014

Is this a long hike? I need to be back in Toronto at 7.30 pm.

    May 30, 2014

    • Jonathan

Unless it is a long trip (eg. Niagara) or post hike activities, usually our hikes finish by 3:30~4:00 pm. We should be back to the city (subway) by 6:00 pm.

Do we need hiking boots for this hike?

    May 29, 2014

    • Jonathan

Always wear your hiking boots. Just think...If you ever twisted your ankle deep into the trail, how many hours would it take for the rescue EMT to retrieve you? This happened to a hiker (not our club) a few weeks ago. It took the firemen 45 mins to reach her, and 4 hours to get her out.
