Len Foote Hike Inn, via Springer Mtn approach

12 mi total- 10mi for anyone wanting to start at top of 750ft Falls.  Hike as a Group. Starting at the Amicalola State Park Visitors Center, hike begins with a breath taking walk up the East ridge (1mi).Then the trail splits to the (BLUE blaze) AT Approach/ to Springer Mtn, which has a great Mtn section that will slow down the best of hikers (4.1).  Then take a (RIGHT) at sign (3.4 mi Springer Mtn or right .9 to the Hike Inn).  After checking out the beautiful natural lodge features and the view from the back side lookout, hike out and back down to the Welcome Center (6mi).  Moderate hike with a typical time of 5 hours 12 mi or 4.25 hours upper 10 mi.  Today: East Ridge had major wash rock on the upper 300 meters and was difficult to walk down.  Going up was fun though!

"We will meet up behind the Visitors Center @ 9am."  There will be plenty of parking and restrooms near the Welcome Center.  Park fee is $5.  Another Restroom at top of the falls and at the Hike Inn Lodge.  Dog friendly hike: Feel free to bring your favorite hiking dog.

Bring plenty of water(refill at Len Foote Hike Inn), Gatorade to stay hydrated and snacks/ lunch to fuel the body.  Rain gear, just in case.  Hiking poles if you have them.
