Popolopen Gorge/Torne Loop

This loop hike climbs to the summit of Popolopen Torne, with panoramic views, and runs along the scenic Popolopen Gorge.

Distance: ~ 5-6 miles
Terrain: Moderate, with some strenuous sections up/down the Torne which is steep and rocky
Pace: Moderate, but we will spend time relaxing at viewpoint along the way. This is not a hike for beginners, only for regular hikers that can keep a moderate pace.

Dogs: No dogs please.

This is a Members only hike, writing +1 in your RSVP does not mean you have signed up a guest for the event.

What to bring and wear: Bring water, something to snack on/lunch.  Remember to dress in layers and bring enough clothes for the conditions. Please no cotton or jeans.

Cancellation notices I will be monitoring the weather prior to the hike and if conditions are not good the hike is subject to cancellation. Please make sure to check your email/site prior to leaving for the hike, for weather or other cancellations,  notices will be sent prior to 8:30 am if required.   Note due to the rock scramble if there is liklihood of a lot of ice, the hike will be cancelled.

Liability Waiver: This is a social group of like minded individuals that enjoy hiking, it is not organized by a professional hiker. Hiking or outdoor activities have inherent risks. Your participation in our hikes or other events could be dangerous and can result in serious injury, medical emergency, even death. You agree to participate in this event completely at your own risk and to take full responsibility for your own safety and well being, including those of your guests.
