The wonderful views from Mount Beacon, the Scofield ridge and Lamb’s hill beckon us on this 8 mile moderately strenuous loop hike.  We will also pass
by a waterfall on the way back down where we can dip our feet.  See NYNJTC write up of the hike below.

Please note depending on the heat/humidity I may alter the exact route on the day, so be prepared for a little bushwhacking/unknown routes. Sense of adventure a must!

It was grey around 7:00 but no rain. Did an up and back on Mt Taurus. We didn't get any rain until 1 PM. Good call on your part, we would have gotten drenched.

Looks like typical English/Irish Summer weather to me. Too much time before the World Cup so I'm doing a solo hike ( probably Bull Hill). Saving Mt Beacon for when it's rescheduled.

Yeah at 6.30 it looked much bleaker, came down a couple times here during the morning though and now it is pouring. Hard to make the call...I was disappointed. Hope you enjoyed our hike.

PS where I was in England we had water shortages, it was more damp and drizzle not the water we had here the last 24 hours!

Decided to "bail" in anticipation of the rains before us. Hope to hike with you soon. Thanks for arranging this.

Can I bring my mature 12 year old who's very in shape?

    June 30, 2014

    • Heike

Yes, as long as you feel they can do the hike and enjoy hiking with adults. I will need you to take full responsibility for them on the trail.

Thanks Heike! I'll catch the next one, my husband thinks it'll be too difficult for the two of them. Enjoy & Happy Fourth!
