The hike: Loop Hike around Lake Poway with a short side trip into Blue Sky Preserve. The hike features scenic views of Lake Poway with a mix of flats, gentle hills and a couple of steeper stretches. As a bonus we will cross into Blue Sky Preserve to enjoy the riparian habitat. We will pass through four of San Diego County's bio-communities: sage scrub, chaparral, oak woodland, and riparian woodland. 4 to 5 miles 400 foot elevation gain and loss; one and a half hours duration.

Needed: Good hiking or walking shoes, sun protection and water are highly recommended.

DIRECTIONS: FROM I-15 TAKE RANCHO BERNARDO ROAD EXIT, HEAD EAST ON RANCHO BERNARDO ROAD/ESPOLA ROAD. TURN LEFT AT LAKE POWAY ROAD. LAKE POWAY ROAD IS APPROXIMATELY 1/2 MILE SOUTH OF THE OLD COACH ROAD/BRIDLEWOOD ROAD TRAFFIC LIGHT INTERSECTION.

Other: Please be on time as we will be leaving on time.
