South Poway Trail -- Community Road westbound

Place: Creekside Plaza Shopping Center
Special Note: You might want to bring a flashlight or headlamp - we may not get back before dark!
Directions: From I-15, exit Poway Road, go east. After about 4 miles, Enter Creekside Plaza Shopping Center just after Community Road. and drive to the southwest corner of the shopping center We will meet to the right of the movie theaters in a small annex parking lot.
The Hike: Climb to the ridge overlooking Poway Creek and Poway. We will head west probably to Pomerado Road with our turnaround dictated by sunset. Hiking distance will be around 6 miles and will take about 2 hours. This is the same hike as last week, except that we will go west instead of east.

Liwen, two comments.
1) total elevation gain is around 450 feet
2) while the write-up says 6 miles, the actual distance will be between 4 and 5 miles because of the early sunset this time of year. I'll try to get us back right at (or a bit after) sunset.October 16

No, it is not easy because it has some hills but it is not too tough. I'd call it easy intermediate. An easy hike would not be 6 miles.
