I have to agree with Peter about the pet population not needing more puppies.
I would recommend K9 Lifeline for training and socialization. They will work with intact males and specialize in dogs with any sort of "aggressive" (for lack of a better word) issues. They may recommend neutering the dog, that can actually make a big difference.
Good luck!

Does anyone out there have a dog, male, that hasn't been fixed?? I am wondering if they are more aggresive then. I have a Malinois and am leary about introducing him to other dogs he can growl and make like he could be mean even though I have disciplined him on occassion. Have thought about taking him to a class of some kind to socialize him a little more. Any comments??? He gets along with female dogs, but I worry about other male, consequently have not participated yet.

Hey Mark,
I had ACL surgery six weeks ago so I can't hike yet but my dog really needs exercise!  I would love to meet people at an off-leash dog park if that is ever possible.  Or a very simple, flat, short walk and a picnic would be something I could do too.  Thanks for taking this on.  :-)

Hi Mark,

To answer your question from my point of view, I live on the west side of town and the location of your last dog walk just was to far for me, I also was tending grandchildren at the time.  My tending schedule is has lightened up this summer so I/we (my dog Nikos) are planning on attending things more often. Just as a suggestion, another dog walker and I have plans to meet this Friday at the Jordan River walkway, that is much more centrally located. I would love to meet more playmated also.

Thanks,
Emily

Hi Dog lovers!

I'm curious...
As new "owner" of this meetup - I wonder what all 288 of you are looking for...
I schedule dog hikes, and only a few show up.  Pretty sure your dog wants to go - why not you?
What are you looking for?  Different days?  Times?  Venues? Different leader...
Ingrid and Lady (and thier owner) would love to meet new/more playmates...
Millcreek canyon was beautiful last week - our dogs had fun running in the water, we had nice conversation.  I am considering a Millcreek hike followed by a picnic!
Your input (better yet, your dog's) is appreciated!!!

PS - Next hike is next week...
PSS - If any of you are climbers, or want to be, check out my other group "Utah Sport Climbers."  A great group of fun, fit people - we climb twice a week and welcome newbies!
