Downtown Concord and Carolina Thread Trail 5 mile Loop - Easy to Mod

Come join us for a downtown historic Concord "hike" that includes charming architectural sight seeing that is bound to be blossoming with beautiful Spring-time blooms this time of year!  We will meet in the parking area behind the renovated Old Creamery to begin our journey.  From there we will venture to well-known and well-manicured Union Street, then through historic downtown, onto the Carolina Thread Trail loop and then back to downtown where we began.  Concord is the Cabarrus County seat and thus houses everything from the County Courthouse to the County Jail and all the government offices in between.

The hike will be FAMILY-FRIENDLY as well as PET-FRIENDLY so feel free to bring one or both. There is even a doggie drinking fountain at McGee park. Woof! Keep in mind that dogs must be on a leash at ALL times.

After we complete the trail loop, we will stop in at the Cabarrus Creamery on Union Street as we make our way back through town.  Enjoy 25 flavors of homemade ice cream at this historic creamery in the charming small town of Concord.  The Creamery dates back to 1923 and is known for unique flavors such as Moon Pie and Sliced Lemon, and generous portions.  You're bound to find something you like! :)

All paths of the hike will be paved and hikers are responsible for their own snacks/beverages/ice cream while on the hike.

Important Notes: This city hike will last ~2.5 hours and we will cease at the Old Creamery where we originated.  During the hike, the city parks have restrooms, playgrounds, benches, and lawn areas available for use.
