Iron Mountain is in Poway at the intersection of Poway Road & Hwy 67.
The trail will be about 10 miles.
We will be going by way of Ellie Lane which will add about 4 miles to the usual 6 mile route.
Allow for about 4 hours 'n change to complete.
Wear good trail shoes or boots.
Though somewhat rock infested, it is a well maintained trail, so one could get away with wearing tennis shoes.
Bring about 3-4 quarts of water, more if you like, and something to chew on.
Also bring a hat; to wear, not to eat. The eating/chewing of one's own hat or someone else's is not recommended.
A camera is a must. If it's not cloudy; San Vicente Reservoir, Coronado, and some of the channel islands can be seen.
Hwy 15 north or south, exit Poway Rd and head east.
You will drive straight into the trail parking lot which is at the intersection of Poway Rd and Hwy 67.
We will meet at the trail head at 7:00 am.
Pets are required to be leashed at all times.
Most pet owners seem to think this rule does not apply to them.
Do NOT bring your dogs, cats, canaries, drama, +1’s or other pets.
