Mt Lowe "Tamales y Cerveza" Xmas Hike

Low on Xmas?? Lowe on Xmas!!!

Join us for a Xmas fiesta hike to toast the season and get above all the "seasonal" insanity…and enjoy authentic tamales...

If we're lucky, we will be treated to views of the entire city and all the surrounding mountains… and maybe, just maybe, a reindeer (or a scary dog w antlers…)

this is a MODERATE hike, suitable for fit beginners- there will be no sweep, but it is an out and back hike

miles: 14

HO HO HO…blah blah blah

The hike is awesome and fun. The tamales, brownie, and cookies are delicious. Thanks Larry for the shortcut, have to say it is the most memorable portion. What a great way to spend christmas

A most fabulous Christmas day on the trails; great weather, great fun and great workout too! Thanks to all and a special thanks to Jackie for organizing and sharing those great tamales (yum, yum); thanks Katharine for those surprising and beautiful santa's hat(s) (an unbelievable fit) and beer; and thanks to Larry for those awful shortcuts (love ya) and the historical journey through the Lowe grounds. Thanks everyone for a really great time!

James, I wont go there; the more the merrier, so I'll say 33, and if you have read the Bible you know what that is, see you tomorrow my friend.

hi all- tomorrow should be a great day!! I'm bringing tamales and a scary looking reindeer…if anyone would like to bring food to share, that would be great…or libations (however this hiking club IN NO WAY condones drinking and hiking ;)…) my thought is that we will toast the season atop Mt Lowe…ho ho ho…see ya tomorrow!!

I would have to wear shorts in order to accommodate my new plumbing. I do not know if the temps will allow that although the forecast should be excellent.

Well Perry, you know your limits ... nobody would be happier to see you than me!

I no longer have the abdominal drains but the foley catheter is annoying to say the least. but with the big bag attached, i can probably make the drive and waddle my way to Echo Mtn and tacos. That is not a guarantee.

      December 24, 2013

  • Perry A

Oh, I wonder if i can kind of fake my way up there with a Foley catheter and bag.

    December 11, 2013

    • Perry A

I am so going to try to go. but i doubt my abdomen and bag will be up to much hiking this soon. i would so love to email pics atop Echo Mtn to my wonderful urologist. when he starts to reprimand me, i can honestly say a physician was on the hike. ;)
