Sridhar and I will be leading our 39th Annual Hawai’ian Islands Eco-Adventure next June to Maui.
As always, on our upscale Hawai’ian adventures, all sumptuous breakfasts and dinners are provided – some people come back on our trips just for the meals and the fun of helping to cook them. We will have three barbecues - the favorite being a mixture of three to four local tropical fish.
The first two nights stay are at the Nalu Kai Lodge in the artist town of Paia .
We will take a hike into the crater of Haleakala National Park to experience, up close, its unique beauty, array of colors, cinder cones, silversword plants, and nene birds.
Just outside Hana we will stay at oceanside rustic cabins in Wai'anapanapa State Park for three nights. Here you can walk the coastline, swim at the black sand beach, explore lava tubes, etc. A rarely done hike is to Hana’s hidden red sand beach, Kaihalulu Beach, formed by an eroded volcanic crater.
The next day will be a full day at the Kipahulu Area of Haleakala NP. First we hike through a bamboo forest and cross bridges above some small falls before getting to Waimoku Falls. Then we go down to O’heo Stream (aka Seven Sacred Pools), just above where it enters the ocean, and swim in the pools. If the water is high enough, there is a natural waterslide carved into the lava.
The last two nights of our Hawai'i adventure will be at the Outrigger Palms at Wailea condominiums. We will snorkel at a nearby Wailea beach. There will be free time for shopping at The Shops at Wailea, or extra beach time, all within walking distance of our condos. Our Aloha Dinner, to celebrate our week's adventures on Maui , will be at a local restaurant.
We hope you and your friends can join us.
A hoi hou ("See you soon" in Hawai’ian),
Bill and Sridhar

UNSOLICITED QUOTES FROM PAST TRIP PARTICIPANTS:
Mahalo nui for the trip of a lifetime. Dennis and I have never had so much fun and adventure - none of it possible without your tremendous knowledge, planning and execution. The amount of work you both put into a trip is amazing, and we so appreciate all that you did -- it made for a wonderful trip.
I am still savoring my Kona coffee each morning and dreaming of Hawaii -- just cannot forget it. It is like a beautiful dream that I never want to leave.
Female participant eating our famous Banana-Macadamia Pancakes: "These are almost orgasmic."
We very much enjoyed our trip to the Big Island.
Thank you for the outstanding and wonderful trip to Kauai. In the future I would love to join you and your group/Sierra Club on another outing and adventure. Please keep me on your list. I appreciate all that you do.
Thank you so much for organizing the Kauai trip this summer. I like how you always had something positive to share and were well organized throughout. I saw and experienced so many incredible things on the trip. I have memories to last a lifetime.Thank you and a hoi hou.
Thanks again for a great trip. We appreciate all your work. It was a great success.
I had a wonderfully relaxing time on the trip...'
WOW, Thanks so much Bill & Joan. I am very appreciative of your generosity and your concern for people...., again "Thank You" so very much!
You know that we will always remember the wonderful Hawaii trip with you.
It was a trip to Islands that I'll always remember
Thanks for a great trip!
Thank you for making it possible for me to see and enjoy part of the lovely area of Hawaii!
My hat's off to Bill for his efforts, and for showing me Hawaii.
The trip was an enjoyable experience for me. It took a lot of planning and coordinating on Bill's part for this to happen.
"... this was my first trip to Hawaii and I can tell you I found it a great experience... the organization was excellent....I would be ready to go on another trip with Bill, as soon as I could arrange it.
Both my wife and myself thoroughly enjoyed our trip and felt that we could not have seen or enjoyed the island as much if we had gone on our own.
Bill put together a great itinerary ... we were delighted with the trip and Bill’s attention to detail. We will again be going to Hawaii with Bill sometime in the future and we highly recommend their trip to all ...
These trips have provided an opportunity to experience parts of Hawaii that are not available to most tourists. The trips were well planned and organized....
This trip lived up to all my expectations and much more. It was my first visit to Hawai'i, and I fell in love with the islands. This is due directly to the leadership abilities of Bill Crane.
"... the trip last summer was well run, with ample supervision and good staffing and logistics. I look forward to making similar Hawaiian trips with Bill and Joan, who are excellent leaders.
The trip was a definite delight for me, being my first time in the Hawaiian Islands. Bill shared his knowledge of the Islands with us. The trip was all that I could have hoped for. Great comradery among the leaders and participants, a fantastic introduction to the Island of Hawaii, being closer to nature by camping rather than staying in hotels, and great food. I look forward to returning to Hawaii soon and would definitely go on one of Bill Crane's trips again.
Bill Crane was familiar with the Big Island and led us to campsites, beaches, and other scenic areas that were simply beautiful.
The trip last summer was well run, with ample supervision and evolved into a cohesive group of supportive friends by July 3.
Safety was always first on Bill's trips... I found them to be VERY well organized, with due regard for the comfort, convenience and safety of each person on the trip, and for the requirements and customs of the local areas.
We truly appreciated his efforts in planning a unique and rewarding trip. From South Point to Captain Cook monument and on to the summits of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea, we had it all. Bill had a total devotion to us on the island.
Hi Bill, Thanks for a great trip to Maui.
