Bicycle American River Parkway: Nimbus Dam to Beals Point

The weather is looking good for a bicycle ride this Sunday. We’ll meet at the Nimbus Flat parking lot at Folsom Lake SRA and ride the American River Parkway 8 miles to Beals Point. The last 3 miles include a couple of hills with about a 400 foot elevation change, we'll take it slow and be able to coast a bit on the 8 mile ride back. On the return trip we’ll take the other side of the Parkway to complete a loop around Lake Natoma. Afterwards, feel free to join us as we explore the nearby Nimbus Fish Hatchery, where it's salmon season!

There is an $10 parking fee, unless you have an annual parking pass. We ride for sight seeing, so expect a moderate pace of about 9 miles an hour (slower going uphill). We’ll take breaks at halfway (Beals Point), and again at ¾ of the way back. We'll meet at 10:45, and begin riding promptly at 11:00.

You're welcome. I do the same on my meetup, and even have it worse, when I go to copy an old meetup for a certain date, and send out the notices, and find out I had it listed for several days AFTER the event. :-) Yeah, I kinda quietly delete those ones...

I wish I could come along with a dear friend for this bike ride, but it's right during a class I have.
