A fun hike with great people and beautiful snow-covered scenery. Plus, a perfect in-the-field test of the claims of "waterproof" for my boots and coat.

Hello Bob, I tried to sync up with Debby for the carpool ride but was not successful. So, I tried to venture out and drive myself to Darrington. While I was almost 3/4 way I saw snow accumulation on the ground and as I got closer to Darrington it became evident that I wasn't comfortable driving in snow. Hence I had to retreat. I apologize for not making it all the way to the trail head and meet you all. But I will certainly see you all on future hikes on days when there is no snow on the road. Thank you and hope you all had a good hike and food.

I got the first email, but not the second one. Are we still meeting at the same place and time?

We will still be meeting at the Brickyard Park and Ride tomorrow morning at 8AM. We will be hiking "Old Sauk River Trail" instead because of snow at the other one. For those who are driving directly to the trailhead, the rest of us will be arriving at 9:45 AM. I sent an email out earlier, but I have a feeling it may not have gone out to everyone due to problems with the meetup website.

I'm going to have to cancel the Boulder River Hike due to snow and freezing rain. We will be hiking the" Old Sauk River Trail" instead. Low elevation and less risk of snow. Same meeting place for carpooling, same itinerary. I sent a couple of emails out earlier but there have been problems with the website and may not have gone out to everyone.

Hi Bob. It'll be good to see you again. I Iike your hikes! Any idea when we'll be back? I have plans at 6:30 in Woodinville and would need to clean up first.

Hi Vivien, I may end up changing the hike again due to snow in the forecast for Darrington. I'll have a better idea in the morning and what time we will be getting back.

Debby, sorry to bother you, would you be available for the carpool request? I live in South Everett and would like to see if anyone would be interested in carpooling from Mill Creek/Lynnwood/Everett/Snohomish/Lake Stevens/Marysville area. We will pitch in the gas cost and have tea or coffee on the way. Thank you.
