After work mid-week hike at St Edwards

This is the return of the mid-week hiking series at St. Edwards State Park. We'll meet every Thursday, and start the hike at 6:00 PM.  The usual hike is 2 miles RT and takes about an hour.  Great scenery, including a nice span along Lake Washington. (The Park has a number of trails that can be added to extend the hike.)

Elevation drop/gain is ~ 500'.

A moderate 2 mph hike.

Bring water, hiking poles (optional); wear comfy cloths and hiking shoes/boots (waterproof is best); and bug spray during the summer time.  For a great Pacific NW Hiking Tip: cotton cloths are great for the tropics but don't work too well when hiking in this climate.

Discover Pass is required. You can get a day pass at the Park for $10, or for $30 (plus tax) you can get a pass that covers ALL of WA State Parks for an entire year. You can also pick up a pass at Fred Meyers, and online of course.

Dogs are fine, but must be kept on a leash and under control, and please bring the doggie bags to clean up after any souvenirs left by your loved one on 4 feet.

Check out the map of the Park that is in the link above. After turning off of Juanita Drive into the Park, keep to your right. Go through the parking lot that is to the right of Bastyr University, then go past the small "Storage sheds", and drive into the circular parking lot just beyond. The Park's sign/Bulletin Board is our meeting spot.  Get there a few minutes early since we will hit the trail at 6PM.

Well, it's not on the official list for this week, but last week we all said, 'See you next week', so I plan to show up and see who else does :-)
