Hiking tour: Auerspitz

Hello hiking friends! The next weekend is waiting for you with another awesome hiking experience. Our destination for this tour is the Auerspitz near Bayrischzell. After arriving with the BOB (Bayerische Oberlandbahn) we will walk to our starting point (~3km), pass the Sillberghaus shortly after and hike up to the Auerspitz at 1811m. Here we will enjoy the nice panorama view (SPOILER ALERT!!! -> http://www.hoehenrausch.de/panoramabilder/bilder/gross/auerspitz.jpg) and make our way downwards to the Soinsee at 1458m. If the weather is warm enough, there will be a nice opportunity for a refreshing bath here. After that we will pass the Soinalmen and the Sillberghaus again.

Here are some facts about the tour:
Bahnhof Bayrischzell – Sillberghaus – Auerspitz – Soinsee – Soinalmen – Sillberghaus – Bahnhof Bayrischzell
altitude difference: 1000m
highest point: Auerspitz 1811m
coolest point: inside Soinsee ;)
hiking skills: 3/5
endurance: 3/5
equipment: hiking boots, weatherproof clothing (please check weather forecast), enough water, some food (opportunity for lunch at Sillberghaus at the end of the tour)

We will meet at Munich Hauptbahnhof platform 34 at 7:30am, buy Bayerntickets there and leave Munich with the BOB at 8:05am. Hope to see you there!

Is there any chance I could meet you at the destination instead of at the Munich Hbf? Going to Munich adds several hours to the trip.

Also, do you know the address that I can use in my navi?

I haven’t done that tour myself. The www-tour guide says it’s an intermediate hiking tour with 1000m altitude difference, so some endurance is required (-> http://www.tourentipp...).

The train station should be at Bahnhofstraße Bayrischzell.

Hi! Sorry for the long waiting list. I just removed it, so that everyone who wants to can join the hike.

Weather Update for tomorrow: The forecast says it should be sunny with nearly zero possibility for rain. Temperatures at the peak should be around 10°C, so consider taking some warm clothes with you.

Meeting point update: The BOB to Bayrischzell arrives at platform 34, so we will meet there.

    See you tomorrow!

  • Thomas

Hi guys, is this hike really limited to 15 people? Surely there's room for everyone on the mountain!

Make sure to get the BOB Ticket on the counter, 10€ cheaper than Bayernticket.

This might be a bit challenging for me, but I am still considering-- Is anyone coming from the Regensburg area?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
