Meet at the parking lot on the East side of Rte 1.

Wildlands is a ~4.5 mile loop that starts up hill through the forest then ends with a 1.5 mile flat hike along the river.   This is a wide, well-worn trail.  For those who want some challenge there will be sections we can trail run for a fraction of a mile then run back to the rest of the group.  I will have just done Old Rag the day before and will likely be dog tired.  We'll see how hard I push.  :)

We'll pass by the parking lot on Rte 1 so anybody that wants to bail after the first part of the hike is free to go then. We'll continue on the South Side of the river for as far as the group wants but I'm shooting for 2 to 3 miles before turning around which would make the total hike about 8 to 10 miles if you do both halves.

We will step off EXACTLY at 9:30. If you are late or have any problems on the trail, txt or call me at 301-6five5-5327. Otherwise there is no grace period and if you show up later, you need to run fast to catch up.

This is a rain or shine event.

Bug spray and long hiking pants are highly recommended!

If you cannot attend please change your RSVP. Two no-shows will result in me asking you to remove yourself from future events that have a wait list.

Dogs are welcome but they must be well behaved! I don't care if you let them off leash but you must and I mean MUST be able to control them verbally or with an e-collar. If they trip someone up or act out I will ask you to put them on leash.

This is cross posted with the 20s and 30s Hiking Around Maryland meetup group.

Normally I'd suggest GPL for lunch but the service was so bad last time I'd like to try Margherita's about a mile North on 1. I will call the restaurant a few days ahead to make sure they are cool with our group size.

Unless the weather suddenly turns cold you will likely be sweaty. So I recommend bringing a change of clothes.

And finally - I didn't want to put this in the title because it freaks people out. But if anybody wants to try some trail running I'll be glad to join you to run ahead then back to the group. Running in circles on a trail is much more fun than running nowhere on a treadmill. :)

See you on the trails!

... unless the forecast on Saturday looks really not promising for Sunday. I would notify you of course. Looking forward to this new place!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
