We will be hiking at a slower pace than my normal high speed hikes.  This hike will be all about exploring a new area, going for distance, enjoying a nice lunch in the woods and meeting new people who are eager to get outside after a day of too much turkey and stuffing.

We'll meet near the Jerusalem Mill parking lot. I'll send the address the day before the event.

We'll be starting off around the Iron Bridge on Franklinville Road going North past Jerusalem Mill, Bel Air Rd, Harford Rd then 3 miles to Bottom Rd.  This should be about 7 miles out and the farthest North I've been on the trail.  If the group wants we can add another 2 miles and hike all the way to the Pleasentville Loop near Pleasentville Rd.

This would make the total round trip distance about 15 miles.  I doubt we'll get that far though. We'll have to turn back early enough to finish before dark.

Bring a head lamp in case we finish in the dark!

Remember to wear your layers, bring plenty of water (2 liters recommended) and food for lunch.

The North trail is pretty benign with just roots to navigate, a few hills and one semi-challenging stream crossing around Bel Air Rd.  That's for the parts I know up to Bel Air Rd.  Beyond that is a mystery.

This is an out and back hike along the same path so you can turn back at any point you are tired or you can wait for the group to come back by.  Please plan to be able to keep up at 2.5 to 3 miles per hour pace for 5+ hours with a few short breaks and one longer lunch break.

We will step off EXACTLY at 10:30.  If you are late, txt me at 301-6five5-5327.

This is a rain or shine event.

Dogs are welcome but they must be well behaved!

This is cross posted between the Hiking Around Baltimore and 20s/30s Hiking Around Maryland Meetup groups.

If the group wants we can hit a local watering hole after for dinner and drinks.  Gunpowder Lodge, Texas Roadhouse and Margerita Pizza are all good options.

Excellent hike Wayne, thanks for organizing it. Haven't done that kind of distance in awhile. No ill effects other than a slightly sore feet.
