Saturday Morning at Patapsco State Park Avalon-Orange Grove Area .

  • June 25, 2011 · 10:00 AM

Marty did this one a couple of weeks ago on a Sunday.  We we be hiking slightly over 5 miles unless we choose to take an extra 1.2 mile loop. For those that would prefer a shorter hike you can cut off at the connection trail to shave off about two miles.   You will have to drive into the Park from the entrance on South Street and drive to the parking area across from the swinging bridge.

To get to this area of the park take I 95 South to 195 heading toward the airport.  Take exit 3  on Rt 1 going toward Elkridge.  The next right will take you on to South Street.  The entrance to the park is just to the left.  There is a user fee to get into the park here.

Gorgeous weather and great long hike. This was the hike that included a wild "boar", a broken down but picturesque house, raspberries, deer, mt bikers galore including one with a puncture wound; EMS; minor stream crossings, bug stories, and great conversation all around. :)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
