We are the premier Baltimore Hiking group with over 8,000 members.
This group is for all those who are dedicated to hiking, biking, camping, and any other fun outdoor activity in and around Baltimore whether in the natural areas or urban settings. We offer a range of activities at different times and locations, and encourage all members to make suggestions or plan and lead events.

See all- National Arboretum: Flat, Mostly Paved, Easy 4 - 5 MilesUnited States National Arboretum, Washington, DC
Visit the U.S. National Arboretum consisting of a 4 - 5 miles. Botanically diverse scenery with a wide variety of different trees, bushes, etc. The terrain is mostly flat with paved trails and easy to hike. This hike is very scenic and is located only 40 minutes from Rt 295 and Baltimore's Beltway (I695). There is also a bonsai and rock garden near the parking lot that you can tour after the hike.
We'll meet at the large parking lot just off Rt-50/New York Ave. It can only be accessed from the outbound lane, so if you're coming into the city, stay in the left lane and make a hard u-turn just before Bladensburg Rd. Then stay in the far right lane, exit onto the frontage road, and the parking lot is through the gates on the right. We'll meet near the handicap parking spaces. Please give yourself some extra time to get there in case you miss the turn or your GPS leads you astray.

- Patapsco State Park: Garret's Pass, Moderate 4 - 5 MilesPatapsco State Park, Arbutus, MD
Enjoy a nice walk up a valley with a running stream and a nice view of Garret's Pass, trails near Landing Rd and Valley of Cascade Falls.
Directions from 95 East or West: Take the I 195 exit toward BWI Airport, then take Rt 1 South (1st exit). Take the 1st Right on South St and in two blocks make a left into the park. Go through the entrance ($3 charge) and follow the road to a T. Make a left at the T and go about 2 - 3 miles to the parking lot by the swinging bridge. Park on Left Hand Side.

- Catoctin: Wolf/Chimney Rocks & Falls: Slightly Strenuous 5.5 or 8 Mile OptionsCatoctin Mountain Park Visitor Center, Thurmont, MD
The Catoctin Hike:
The trail starts out with a fairly steep climb from the Visitor's Center. The first hike lasts approximately 3 hours and includes Wolf Rock, Chimney Rock, and the Thurmont Vista. Experience outstanding views from Wolf and Chimney Rocks. This Trail is considered moderate to slightly difficult with a steep climb. Second option includes a walk to Cunningham Falls from the visitors center. Great views of the falls from the observation area. This hike has outstanding views from Wolf and Chimney Rocks.
Parking: The Visitor Center lot has limited parking. Plenty of Parking available on the shoulder of Rt 77 on both sides about a block or two from the Visitor Center.

VISITOR CENTER DIRECTIONS:
For GPS Use Only: the Street Address of the Visitor Center is 14707 Park Central Road, Thurmont, MD. This is NOT a mailing address. The Park mailing address is: Catoctin Mountain Park, 6602 Foxville Road, Thurmont, MD 21788.
From Baltimore, MD Take I695 beltway to I70 West to Frederick, MD. Take Route 15 North to Thurmont, MD. Take Route 77 West (the exit sign says Catoctin Mountain Park. Travel approximately 3 miles west on 77 and turn right onto Park Central Road. The Visitor Center is on the right.
Detour: Rt 77 temporarily closed from Rt 15 to Visitor Center.
Before the Rt 77 exit, get in the Left hand lane and make a left at Cunningham Falls/Manor Hill Area sign and proceed to 15 South. Alternative: Directly before RT 77, take the Tippin Dr Exit and proceed to 15 South. In either case, make a Right at Catoctin Hollow Rd. Dead Ends into Rt 77. Make a Right at Rt 77 and in about 100 yards a left into the Visitor Center. Detour adds no more than 5 - 10 minutes.*** IMPORTANT ***

We will meet at Cult Classic Brewery in the bar/restaurant area for a pre-show sip and bite starting at 7pm then go into the auditorium to see the band play around 8pm.
