The Michener Art Museum in Doylestown has a special exhibit on the life of Philadelphian Grace Kelly. Movie star, Princess of Monaco, she is one of Philly's most famous people. Kelly Drive is named after her brother, John B Kelly Jr, called Jack, a city councilman and oarsman like their father. Many of us have passed the statue of their father, John Kelly Sr, who won 2 gold medals in the 1920 Olympics for rowing, on Kelly Drive next to the race grandstands.

We'll meet at the Cross Keys Diner for breakfast at 930am. About 1045am we'll drive to the Mitchner Museum in Doylestown- 138 Pine St. We'll park in the lot, then buy our timed event tickets, cost around $18. Then we'll take a 1.5-2 hour walk around Doylestown before visiting the museum. Could visit museum first due to weather.

Caution: You should be able to walk 3-4 hours without much of a break.

To carpool from Hill House meet at 845 am. Each carpooler chips in $6 at the start. Email me 3-4 days in advance and receive a reply.

Ditto! Ditto! Really enjoyed the conversations as well as the food at the diner. Doylestown is a special town- so quaint. The Michener Museum was informative & interesting. It was a lovely adventure!

A lovely trip on a wintery day with a very nice group - the Cross Keys diner was a real find. Michener's office library with his dictionary and music tapes and the Grace Kelly gowns transported me to South Pacific, Cheasapeake and Monaco in that order. The viewing time was perfect as the crowds had passed through and Lisa Tremper Hanover, the CEO of Michener said hi to us. Wonderfu visit - thanks so much.

The diner food was good, the chilly air exhilarating, and Grace Kelly's gowns so elegant.

I'm here at the revised location. They don't take reservations so I'll wait by the cash register
