Bristol is a sleepy small town located right on the Delaware River. There are lots of neat historic houses all with the address of 1628 or 1628 is the year the town started. Adjacent to the town is Maple Beach Park which is not on any map because it's owned by Rohm and Haas. We've seen busy beavers and great blue herons here in the winter.

We'll start off walking the through the park which has a few lakes or ponds. I especially like part of the hike where we walk right along the Delaware. Afterwards we'll take a spin around the town, head down to the D & R Canal path and the Green Lane Amish Market which is supposed to be great.

We'll hike for 3-4 hours covering 7-10 miles. Mostly flat. I've found a great eating, drinking place nearby: The Newportville Inn. Serves German style food.

Caution: You should be able to walk 3-4 hours without much of a break.
You should have recently hiked 7 miles in conditions detailed above. Hills, bushwhacking, & rocky conditions. Hilly Hikes Warning:

To carpool from Hill House meet at 1045 am. Each carpooler chips in $6 at the start. Email me 3-4 days in advance and receive a reply.

Sidney, thank you for what was a wonderful day out. As always I am appreciative of all the work you do to make the group so enjoyable and unique and a bit envious of your ability to create a world for yourself that is so uniquely and authentically you.

I look forward to a good 2014 with everyone.

Sidney , just a thought you might want to check out the Amish market on Green lane as well while checking out the town. It is crazy busy but the food is good and has some unique stuff if you never been there.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
