I enjoy walking and hiking, both urban and rural. If I am not working (I am semi-retired) I have time for hiking and the idea of keeping it more or less local appeals to me.

Thanks for the greeting. I look forward to meeting with all of you.
Thanks so much for your reply, John. Will definitely use the dumpster!
John it looks like we won't make this hike after all. It sounds like a great place and we hope to make one of the hikes at Cromwell Valley Farm soon.
John, I enjoyed talking with you on the Oregon Ridge hike. Here's a link to hiking maps of the reservoirs that you may find useful. They are large files, but have a lot of detail as you zoom in.

Hi John, I read your comment about the sedge barren leafhooper, that is very interesting! Thanks for shareing. It was great hiking w/you. Merrie!
Hi John--I read your note about road biking. The Baltimore Bike Club is made up of mostly enthusiasts, many of whom do wear spandex. I find that the slower the ride group, the more social they tend to be and the less spandex they tend to wear. I'll probably go on a ride this coming weekend if the weather is good. They sometimes combine the start of the 10-12 mph and 13-14 mph groups, which is great for people who are out for their first ride with BBC and aren't sure which group to ride with.
Hi there---I am new to this group. I have some questions: can I bring my dog? Do I need special footwear like stabilicers? Thanks!
