A wonderful trip all the way thru Saturday evening, then I got sick: sore throat, ear pain... an anticipation of what looks like a nasty cold.... well, that's life, isn't it? :(

In any case, thank you Lupita for arranging campsite booking/collecting monies, providing even the tent. I couldn't have asked for more!
Thank you Doogey for the carpool, Sawsan for the company, Lily for organizing the trip, Charlene for the fun party and to the rest for being great hiking buddies. You are all wersome! :-)

Light afternoon winds as our overnight lows cool to the 30's & 40's. Little change over the weekend with light afternoon winds

Thanks Mr. Mountain for the weather report. Love the fact it is Spring on the mountains even though it is beginning of Summer :-) please pack your clothes accordingly to enjoy the weekend (warm in the day and chilly at night...ouch 30s)

Mike and Frances, will you drop us a notes via email of your plan? Since you are new to the group and sign up late, we'd like to know if your plan will fit the group schedule before having you to join us

Greetings and sending you an update for our coming up weekend trip. Weather forecast has it very nice during the day, in the 70s and cooler at night in the low 40s. For lodging:
    1. Camping group, please contact Lupita directly via her email if you need camping info or she'll send you a confirmation again before going (do not use this discussion for that purpose)

    2. Cabin with GeoJohn and Roberta, spaces are available, please contact Roberta directly via email. DO NOT POST here!

    3. Condo with Charlene and Dave Sp's cabin, we'll send you info via email. If you are not belong in those 3 groups (Shelley is the only one I know so far), else you shouldn't be on this list!

For Sat. group dinner: Charlene has suggested a potluck dinner cooking and sharing food at the timeshare condo. If you are interested in this suggestion, please RSVP here and indicate either a main dish, salad dish or dessert. We like to get an idea how many will join dinner.

Thanks to everyone for your signing up to join us. We like to make sure everyone RSVPed here will also join us overnights at the condo (s) with Charlene or the cabin with Dave Sp, so we'll plan to book some more or to advise you to take care of your own accomodation. Tracey, please contact me! By RSVPed here, you'll plan to join us hiking and for activities only. We also like to let you know that a week before the event, we'll remove those who RSVPed without any note of when to come and where to stay.

Here is the link for you to add your name to the waiting list, after you pay the deposit, we'll move you to the yes list.

As of now, we don't have enough interest to join camping, so you can go ahead and book a campsite, and let us know if you like to share with the group. I have been behind on the conversations, work duties..Just a bit of clarity on the condo, we have one condo secured by me that can sleep 6 people. Lily will send out how to send in your deposits by next week and once we secure the deposits for those that are serious and commit to the lodging, we will determine if a second condo is needed. For those that prefers to be one with nature then please feel free to book your own reservations at a campground and lily has provided the link to the campsites . Thanks for your interest and patience as we get through this hdcnt and lodging stage, the fun will definitely begin the minute we are in Big Bear! Cheers..

I was able to secure a second condo @ Worldmark Timeshare for Friday night only and on waiting list for Sat. I am on the first group of the waiting list; hopefully I will be able to get the condo for Sat in the next few weeks. I coordinated Charlene.

An update of our "luxury" Summer Solstice this year and no camping for sure as it may be too late for booking campsites later on. We don't like to waste $20 on booking and canceling fees, so let's save it for zip-lining :)

Nat may introduce us to "bungee jump" new activity of Big Bear too :-)

We will collect non-refundable deposit for the timeshare condo from this weekend on, please check back here for info of how to pay or you can meet with us on the trail and give us $ in cash.

    April 9, 2013

According to the RSVPs now, we don't have enough interested to reserve a campsite. We will leave it one more week waiting for your confirmation and will decide making a campsite reservation for the group or not. If we don't have at least 10 to indicate camping and will pay for deposit, we leave camping option for you to book on your own. Please use this link to find out more info http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/sbnf/recreation/camping-cabins/recarea/?recid=26249&actid=29 For those who will plan to stay at the condo, Charlene will have info for you to pay deposit to secure a space. If you have a habit of RSVP out of an excited moment and drop out later (or even NO SHOW), I know who you are, so please make a change by next Sunday 4/14 to indicate note before we move you to the waiting list until you commit. This event will be a little relax on all activities compare to hiking trips and we need to plan in advance for booking. Please be consideration and have respect when you RSVP!
