Organised in conjunction with the Hindi/Urdu meetup:
Join us after work to get over your shyness with Hindi speaking, practice your fluency, and have a fantastic time over a drink or two with a friendly group.
All levels are welcome, as the idea is to get together, find out who is at your level, and then let the Hindi conversation flow naturally.
Please write in your RSVP whether you are a Beginner/Shy Hindi Speaker, Intermediate, or Advanced Speaker, so you can sit with people at your level and not worry about being pressured to speak at a higher level, nor get bored with speaking at a lower level. Although keep in mind that people are all there to help each other if needed.
When you arrive, please tell Carmen or other organiser your level so you can sit with the matching part of the group.
The emphasis will be on letting members get into free flowing conversations and talk about what they want, so any warmup exercises (ie. introduction questions, Bollywood film skits, or Hindi song readings) will be limited, then it will open up for everyone to speak Hindi casually with their neighbours for the majority of the time to get the most Hindi practice and fun out of the night. We ask everyone to speak in Hindi only for the first 2 hours (can be 30-45 minutes for beginners) because speaking in English tends to catch on and makes others speak in English, although beginners can say some words in English to get started.
There will be some time during always to mix the groups up a bit so that any questions the beginners have can be answered by the more advanced speakers who are always willing to help
