First Talk of 2014 Hunterdon County 300th Celebration

Delaware Township Historian Marilyn Cummings demonstrates how to navigate the digital mapping of historic sites, places, roads and so much more that she has created.  Following Marilyn's presentation, a panel of preservation experts, Elizabeth Cole, Michael Marguiles and Janice Armstrong, will discuss Hunterdon's lost buildings, fragile opportunities and saved beauties.  Refreshments will be served courtesy of Shop Rite of Hunterdon.  The event is free and kicks off the year-long speaker series of the 300th Celebration http://www.hunterdon300th.org/.

The presentation was very informative. I was happy to see so many people interested in old architecture. I've been to the McLoughan mansion and the Vought house. A lot of hard work has gone into these houses but when you see the before and after pictures, it is worth it just to see the changes to these gems. The talk about the mapping was great too. How far technology has advanced.

I thought the panel went great. The information was varied, interesting & the timing perfect. I was pleased to see people had questions about the historic
properties that are familiar to them everyday. It demonstrates how these talks can elevate awareness & interest. Thanks all

Thanks Michael. Is it poor etiquette to commit to two meetup activities and then leave one at the last minute?

I am trying to get the Meetup members interested into the talk so if interested don't change your status to "no" yet.

Michael M: Thanks for alerting me about the registration. Unfortunately I jumped on it rather late and I did not get a reservation. Perhaps I need to read future meetups more thoroughly :)

I had something else scheduled for that day. I found out today that the other event is postponed to a later date. When I opened the link for this event, it said that it is sold out. Hope everyone has a good time.
