Hometown: Falls Church
January 28, 2013
I'm the sort of person who sometimes enjoys looking at the art museum more then the art.
That's a tough question, especially in a town like DC. I can't say I have a single favorite but since I'm a fan of Meigs I'd say the Pension Building would be near the top of my list.
I'm always up for a behind the scenes tour of any historic building especially The Octagon, Arlington House, Carneige Library, Central Library, Smithsonian Castle, Jefferson Memorial, Union Station, Forest Glen Seminary, Old Post Office, Scottish Rite Temple, Pope-Leighey House, and others
Hi Gordon, we had interacted a few weeks back on email. Looking forward to meet you at the CAMS CNC monthly meeting this wednesday.
Gordon, it was good to meet with you yesterday and I look forward to follow-up. On another topic, I notice you live in Falls Church which puts you much closer to Nova Labs than I had thought. Please consider joining us for upcoming activities. As I mentioned, we have a variety of classes coming up: soap making, Arduino, EagleCAD, and more. No better way to get to know us than getting to know us. ;-)
Hope to see you at the space soon.
Gordon, Welcome to the CCBC MIT Fab Lab group. - Glen
Thanks for joining. I started an INFJ group 2 weeks ago and I thought that because we're all so rare, a group of all four types might meet with a few more people attending meetups. Hope you can make it out Sunday or in the future.
Message was over 500 character limit - here is extra paragraph:
My exposure to this subject so far has all been through ShopBot - their website and I have been to a couple of their jamborees in Durham, NC. I have played with their software, but never done real cutting. If you are cutting materials, and wouldn't object, I would like to come and see!
Thanks for your message - I will track down your links.
I am located pretty close to you in Vienna, near Tyson's Corner. My email address is [masked], in case you find that an easier way to contact me. (I am still learning the Meetup communication ropes)
Looking forward to learning more about CAD/CAM/CNC,
Thank you very much for such a warm welcome. I hope to see you soon. Thanks again!
