We're kicking off the new year with the ultimate of historic London pubs The Prospect of Whitby.
Claiming to be the oldest riverside pub, dating from the 1520's, it's a delightful pub with wobbly wooden floors and plenty of space and stunning river views, you almost feel like you're in an ancient ship once inside.
It has another famous view that of the hangman's noose just on the riverside, signifying Execution Dock just outside where for 400 years pirates, smugglers and mutineers were hung (the last hanging taking place in 1830).
There will also be time to wander up to the equally historic and beautiful Captain Kidd pub just along the road.
