Meet to discuss, Detroit: An American Autopsy, by Charlie LeDuff

At one time, Detroit was the richest large city in America; now it is the poorest.  Charlie LeDuff, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist for the New York Times, returns to his home town to write this combination memoir and history of a city that is dying.  Come and discuss this powerful book with us!

Books are available from most public libraries or through Interlibrary Loan, and there are copies here at the Cal City P.L.  at the reference desk.  Order yours now to get it read by May 18th.

We're still building this group, so please feel welcome!

The Calumet City Public Library is at 660 Manistee Ave.  If you know where the River Oaks Mall is, go north on Torrence Ave. from the mall until you reach 154th St., also known as Pulaski in Calumet City.  Turn right (east) at 154th/Pulaski and go two short blocks.  On the left you'll see the fire station and the police station. Go around back of the fire station.  We're just behind the fire station.  Manistee Ave. is between the fire station and the police station.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
