Colorado Mail Stories: By Train, Plane, and Pony Express Lecture - History Colorado Center

Tuesday, May 20, 2014 - 7:00pm - 8:00pm
The geography and economy of Colorado prompted creative endeavors by the government, businessmen, customers, and criminals to protect or hinder the delivery of mail. And though the short-lived Pony Express had its only Colorado stop in Julesburg, that station is now a postal legend. K. Allison Wickens of the Smithsonian's National Postal Museum discusses the history of the delivery of mail to Colorado, from pioneering days to the present.

Cost: $8.50 members, $6.50 students with ID, $14 nonmembers with museum admission, $10 nonmember for lecture only
