What book are you reading right now? (Doesn't have to be history)

Although it's a series for "young readers," I'm having a blast reading the Jacky Faber books by L.A. Mayer. They are about a young British orphan in the early 1800's who takes to the seas as a "ships boy." Very funny books and a delightful romp through history of the time, including Admiral Nelson and the battle of Trafalgar. I'm learning quite a bit about sailing vessels of the time. A delight!!

What historical reading do you enjoy most? (Topics, points of view, authors, etc.)

Great women in history. My favorite: Eleanor of Aquitaine.

Where did you hear about the History Reading Circle? (Be as specific as possible)

I became fascinated with British history as a teenager when I watched the great PBS series, The Six Wives of Henry VIII. I love reading British history, particularly books by Alison Weir.
