Tsundoku Summer Swap!

Word of the Day. Tsundoku. “buying books and not reading them; letting books pile up unread on shelves or floors or nightstands”. Don't let this happen to you!

Hello all and hope you have been enjoying your summer!

It will be one year to the date of our annual book swap! And as usual, if you don't have a book (print or otherwise) to share or swap, please bring ideas for upcoming meetup events. As many of you know, I prefer to not limit events to book discussions alone; all literary related events will be considered.

And like last year, if you have fully transitioned to the electronic format and are up for sharing, please post on the wall when you RSVP. Otherwise, I'll think that you're going "Old School" like myself.

As always,

***PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING***
~Space is reserved in the front room lounge.
~Please be courteous by ordering food and drinks at the venue.
~THERE IS A $1 FEE for this event.

~Event begins at 6:00 pm. Latecomers are welcome. End time will be determined by members in attendance.
~You may RSVP until midnight the day before the event. I will send out an email to members attending with my cell phone number via Meetup message the night before.

Looking forward to seeing you there! ~Hazel

FYI, Everybody: In an effort to unclutter my apartment, I am planning to bring a lot of books and you're all welcome to take as many as you want.

Hi all - we will follow the straightforward swap procedure we've used in the past - show up with your book(s), leave them on the table and as people come you choose the books you want to bring home. You can bring one or more books and take home one or more books. Should more than one person want the same book, I'm certain we can figure out a solution. (Though this has happened to date either at this book swap or others I've attended.) If you do have an e-reader however, there may be certain limitations based on the device and you would need someone else to swap, so please post if you are looking to e-swap.
Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!

We could draw lots or have a contest for the pick order.

I have the same question. Do we swap one-to-one with each other, or throw all the books in a big pile and then fight over them? Seriously . . . would like to know the "procedures."
