Wine Tasting & Music at Black Ankle Vineyards

Black Ankle Winery in Mt. Airy has wine tastings and music on Friday nights from 6p-9p. Let's get together for a Ladies Night filled with music, wine, and friends.

Feel free to bring picnic fare to share with the group!  We're unable to bring in outside alcohol, however they will have plenty of bottles available for purchase and sharing.  I'll bring some plastic cups, plates, napkins, and silverware. If you'd like to do a tasting, the fee is $8.

I plan to arrive around 5:30p to grab us a spot!  My cell is[masked] if you have trouble finding me.

Great time....but expected nothing less :) And although red wines aren't my fav, I was pleasantly surprised by those as well!

On my way - it's much farther away than I thought so I'll be late. Sorry! See you soon.

There isn't a sign at the entrance or the road you

Oh I'm so excited spots opened up for this. I'm in and I'll bring something to munch on. I'm coming from work as well but shouldn't have an issue getting there by 6. Look forward to seeing you all.

I'll bring a cheese plate also. I may be there more around 6:00 since I am coming from work. Can we pay the tasting at the vineyard?

OK thanks - I'll bring some Boursin and crackers.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you can pay for the tasting at the vineyard.

I'll plan to bring some chips and salsa....see you Friday! I will try to be there as close to 5:30 as possible but since it's not right around the corner, it will probably be closer to 6 until I get there.

I was wait listed and I saw now a spot came open. I thought maybe I would get an email notifying me that a spot had opened up and see if I was still interested. I would like to attend but I saw something about the winery sold out of white wines, and sadly, I hate red wine so I will have to cancel.

Hi Jen- when you wait list, Meetup assumes you're interested when a spot opens up. Hope to see you next time!

Hey sorry to cancel now. I was wait listed and figured I would get an email to see if I was still interested :-

So sorry to meet you all. I ended up making other plans because I was on the wait list. I look forward to the next one.

Hi....haven't been to any of the groups gatherings yet but I'm wondering how the whole "Wait List" thing works. Does someone have to back out for me to be able to come? Does this winery only take groups of 8 at a time? Again, I'm new to this whole Meet Up thing and trying to figure it all out. Looking forward to meeting some more lady wine lovers :-)

    Thanks!

Note from Black Ankle: Hi Kristine -
Unfortunately we do not take table reservations, seating is first come/first served. If your group is planning to arrive after 5:30, I would encourage you to bring some camp chairs/picnic blankets, as seating tends to be occupied around that time. Our last wine service is at 8:30pm - to ensure the safety of everyone on our rural roads. We have a local cheese menu that varies week to week, depending on farm availability - so you are welcome to take a look at it that evening. Also, you are welcome to bring along picnic items/food - outside alcohol is prohibited by Maryland state law. Just a heads up, we are sold out of white wine until mid-May, we are 100% estate and this happens from time to time. We do have several yummy reds available. :) We look forward to having you!

I teach in DC on Fridays. Won't be able to make it to Mt. Airy in time. Love this winery though!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
