I've written four books including a romantic thriller (I swear, it didn't start out romantic - it just ended up there), a post-apocalyptic horror/fantasy, and a straight-up horror novel about werewolves in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. My latest novel is the first in a series of four books set in a post-apocalyptic Midwest. I've also had about ten short stories published in Science Fiction and Horror magazines, and I've self-published a collection of my short stories.
This summer, I'll be working on a book about ghosts and vampires in the Appalachians... Nope, instead I'm writing a sequel to Nine Fingers because it's selling and people are begging. In the fall, I'll be writing the first of a series of books about a farmer turned bounty hunter in Appalachia. In the winter, I'll be returning to the world of my first book with the first of four novels about a teenage assassin. Next spring... aww, skip it. Just know I'll be writing something. Check out my blog at tonyspivey.blogspot.com.
Writer's groups keep me on task with my writing. However, I must tell you that I have serious reservations about being associated with any group that would have me as a member.
I live in Holly Springs with my wife, daughter, and our enormous dog. I used to be an engineering director for a company in RTP, but it was a drag, man. Now, I sling code for a different company, and I dig it. We've lived all over the country and I've been a member and occasional organizer of writers' groups in Las Vegas, NV, Sedalia, VA, Charlottesville, VA, and Lancaster, PA.
I was born the poor son of sharecroppers... no wait, that wasn't me. After being paroled this last time... no, that's not right either. I'm just an engineer who writes stuff, and my wife thinks I'm talented. What do I think? Eh...
