In Hawaii, there are coqui frogs now. They are considered an invasive species, depending on who you listen to. They are from Puerto Rico and are honored there. They sing very loudly at night, calling there name in a high-pitched whistle-like tone: CO-KEE, CO-KEE. When it is cold they are silent and you become aware just how quiet it is on an island. Many people who lived in Hawaii before the frog's arrival hate them because they enjoyed the silence and hate the tiny tree frogs call, labeling it noise. The frogs are tiny, smaller than a nickel and they are cute. Hawaiians have spent millions of dollars trying to kill them. Symbolically frogs are the symbol of cleansing and release. When people get all upset about these small frogs, perhaps they need to be reminded once again how powerful our perspective is. Each person has the choice to either see the frogs as an annoyance or to enjoy their nightly song. IT IS ALL GOOD! EVERYTHING IS PERFECT when we learn to accept and let go of the need to controll. Our emotions can take us in to misery or show us joy; it is up to us which we choose at any given moment.
