Are you the kind of person whose pulse starts racing at the thought of spending a Saturday night working on tracks in Logic 9? Or do you prefer GarageBand, ProTools or Cubase? Do you get all excited at the idea of discussing the finer points of using Line 6's POD Farm guitar effects processing and amp simulations as compared to using Logic's effects processing? Do you love putting together kick ass little drum loops? Do you worry about whether your USB interface is high quality enough to capture all of your awesomeness? Do you know the difference between cardioid, ribbon and condenser mics? Are you are songwriter just exploding with talent and looking for someone to collaborate with? Does your garage/kitchen/bedroom serve as a makeshift recording studio with 1/4" cords and XLR cords all over, midi keyboards on every usable surface and guitars, basses, and weird things that make cool noises hanging from every wall? Does your spouse or significant other cringe when you say things like, "So I saw this great new piece of gear at the music store!" Well if you answered an enthusiastic "YES!" to any (or all) of those questions (or even if you knew what the hell I was talking about), then you may want to come to the next meeting of the Home Recording Artists of Ventura County. My name is George and I am new to Ventura (June 2013). I had a similar MeetUp in the San Francisco Bay area where I met a lot of great folks. I am hoping to connect with some cool home audio recording folks here in Ventura. You should come to this MeetUp if you are: -Looking for other recording artists to collaborate with. -You are a novice, amateur or expert looking to learn and share recording techniques. -A musician looking to get connected with other musicians who like to record music. -You are a music producer looking for a network or musicians and engineers. -You are a singer, play an instrument (guitar, bass, keys, drums, didjeridu, etc.), songwriter, audio engineer, etc. looking for collaborators. -You just want to hang with musician-type folks. This is a chill group. Don't be intimidated. If you know a lot, cool. I hope you share your knowledge. If you know a little, that's cool. Trust me: we all started somewhere. The point of this group is to: -Support local artists. -Enjoy fellowship with other artists who hear the muses. -Provide a place where recording artists can talk shop and deepen knowledge. -Provide a networking space where artists can connect with potential other collaborators. -Oh yeah, and we have lots of fun, too.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
