Estimated attendance
 12  people attended.

Who organized?
Angelita (Angy) Nixon and Morgan

The Meetup that is scheduled for this Saturday (12/27/08) at my house is CONFIRMED! I would like to propose forming a women's groupwomen's group, or to explore whether this group could function as such. Women need to hang out together, think and talk together, give and receive support together. Sometimes we don't even know which one we need!

I am also noting that there is some exciting new home birth interest stirring in Huntington, with a couple awareness-raising functions already scheduled in December and January. I'll send the details out soon - but save these dates:

Thur 1/15/09 for a discussion about recent birth films

Would you like to have a movie night on Saturday? I will set up a projector and make some popcorn so anyone who wants to stay (after dark) is welcome! We'll vote on which birth movie(s) to watch.... Bring a friend.

Can't wait!
Angy

Wonderful to welcome many new guests to this group - Lisa Dalporto (midwife with slideshow of training TBAs in Africa), Teresa Stire (ICAN speaker/leader, who has reached 51,000 hits for her online slideshow - HBA3C), Maria Moles (the woman whose birth made me into a "real" home birth midwife for the first time), Elisabeth Dye (Maria's sister, artist/activist in her own right), and my best friend, Kathryn Ellis with baby Cooper. I love my friends!

Come for a preview of a new slide show, "They Called Me Mama Lisa," from one of my new home birth midwife colleagues (Lisa Dalporto) who recently spent three months in Africa. Lisa is becoming a traveling midwife - she leaves soon to serve as a private-duty home birth midwife for a family in Bermuda.
