The Meetup scheduled for Saturday (1/31/08) at Trebor Sutler's house is CONFIRMED! (Please note - this is actually the FIFTH Saturday, not the usual fourth Saturday.) This featured location is the site of a most recent, inspiring, and beautiful home waterbirth VBAC - we will get to hear the story and see the slideshow... bring your friends, especially ones who would like to be inspired to break away from the outdated once-a-cesarean-always-a-cesarean mentality that is so prevalent around here. (WV again ranks poorly - #5 in the nation for highest cesarean rates.)

As usual we will have a chance to hear amazing birth stories, make new friends, connect with each other, and support our common passion for birth. Women need to spend time together, think and talk together, give and receive support together. Sometimes we don't even know which thing we need!

I am also noting that there is new home birth interest stirring in Huntington... stay tuned. These Meetups are also an excellent opportunity to meet other home birth midwives in the area.

Can't wait to see you all again. While I love the "reunion" feel of our get-togethers, I am also pleased to see the group maturing into a strong and cohesive source for information about BIRTH - wonderfully biased in favor of women/families and their strength!

This meetup was awesome! I was so pleased with the turnout. This meetup was especially important to me as I was finally able to share my Journey with an amazing group of women and men who truly love and appreciate birth. I hope that it was encouragement to those planning VBAC's as well. Not only was the meetup informative it was so great getting to meet so many amazing women.

It was inspiring to hear these amazing birth stories and what these mothers overcame.
    •  This was my first Home Birth Meetup, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Everyone was so warm and welcoming. The stories were both touching and inspiring on a deep level. Thank you to Trebor for opening her lovely home to us all, everyone who made the experience so enjoyable, and Angy for making this all possible. I hope to continue to come to future Home Birth Meetups to share and learn with with everyone.
