Primitive Skills Day

Have you ever experienced being lost in the woods?  Maybe you lost or forgot to bring gear?  This workshop will sharpen some of  the  survival skills you may need in this situation. Peter Sananman, ER doctor at the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philidelphia, Chair of Disaster Preparedness Committee for the     University of Pennsylvania Health System and instructor of     wilderness survival and disaster relief medicine will teach you the hands on skills for survival focusing on water, shelter and fire building.  Working individually and in teams, participants will learn how to make fire with a bow drill, build a warm shelter,   create a coal-burned bowl and use that bowl to stone-boil food. Bring: a knife; a fixed blade knife is preferable.  Course content may be modified depending on time and weather. Registration is at 9:30AM.  Workshop starts promptly at 10 AM. Bring: A lunch. Fee:   $60/IC, $70/OC.
