Big Data: A revolution that will transform how we live, work and think

  • August 24, 2013 · 12:30 PM

By Victor Mayer-Schonburger and Kenneth Cukier. Of particular relevance in light of Edward Snowden case. NYTimes says: The authors argue that big data analytics are revolutionizing the way we see and process the world... they give readers a fascinating — and sometimes alarming — survey of big data’s growing effect on just about everything: business, government, science and medicine, privacy and even on the way we think."

Finished reading the book and looking forward to talking about it. As an aside, I heard about an interesting documentary broadcast in the UK last week regarding health monitoring technology and apps. Somewhat related to big data, worth watching if you get a chance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vT8ufXQs1Mc
