Studio Night (October 28th): International Halloween

WARNING: This week's films are intended to frighten, disgust, and disturb. If you find this uninteresting or offensive, you should consider missing this particular movie night.

We're celebrating Halloween with a cross-section of horror sub-genre films from around the world! Make sure to arrive by 7:15PM if you'd like to help choose between the four options (which all have English subtitles)...

1999; Japan; 115 minutes; madness
In order to find a new wife, a widower takes an offer to screen girls at a fabricated film audition arranged for him by a friend. The one he fancies is not at all who she appears to be.
Gray's Superlative: Most Disturbing

Suspiria (trailer)
1977; Italy; 98 minutes; giallo slasher
An American ballet student joins a prestigious German dance academy only to discover that her classmates are disappearing all around her.
Gray's Superlative: Most Psychedelic and Unrealistically Bloody

Small update: I'm strolling near LKF at about 6:30pm and everything is low-key. If it gets packed tonight, it looks like it'll be awhile.

That's a really good question, Man. I've actually never experienced Lan Kwai Fong during a Halloween weekend, so I'm not entirely sure myself. I feel like any time before 7pm should be fine, though.

    Hey, all!

Just a quick note for those poor souls who will be joining our international horror event: It is likely that Lan Kwai Fong will be Halloween-crazed on Sunday, and possibly packed wall-to-wall, so I'd suggest arriving a tad early if you want to avoid tunneling through flesh. (Then again, if you prefer that, please ignore this. :>)
