Sha Lo Tung Walk

Sha Lo Tung is not far from bustling Tai Po town,  yet you can see old traditional villages standing in beautiful countryside.

We will be guided by Kim, who is a keen golfer, has a terrific sense of humour, and has walked over 500 trails in HK, Kowloon and Lantau.

The whole outing including car trip from Kowloon to Tai Po and back, stopping to admire the scenery, snack breaks, and tea afterwards, will take about 4-5 hrs. We aim to let everyone get back for dinner anyway.

The hike:

-Rating: 3 /10 (For reference Yung Shue O would be a 2/10)

-Distance:  4.5 km

-Incline:  Gentle ups and downs

-Pace:  At the slowest person's pace

-Duration:  The hike itself takes about 2 hrs

-Wear:  Hiking Shoes...although this is an easy hike, it is not a stroll. There will be some ups and downs on country tracks

-Bring:  Light backpack, at least a litre of water, snacks and chocolate, hiking stick, hat, sun screen, mosquito repellent.

After the walk we can go for roast pigeons.

Awesome! Beautiful scenery, shady paths and lots of pools and ponds along the path. Walk was a bit tough for me as I haven't done much exercising for over a year but everyone encouraged and made allowance for my slower pace. Many many thanks.

A bit challenging because of the heat. The important thing is, we enjoyed doing it.

Should have said no earlier. Hate to bow to harsh reality...but this couch potato is definitely not fit enough for today's hike under a scorching sun . I leave the hike to the fittest 3 golden girls I know- Kim, Carmela and Teresa to enjoy.I will just envy them for being so forms determined.

Scoozie, Kim knows a lots of good walks/hikes but she is usually only free during the week and the best day for her is Thursday. However we can look into doing walks in the weekend when I'm back.

Welcome back to the "Director's Chair"! I might consider trying this walk as have not been in as much pain of late. And the idea of roast pigeon is a huge attraction, after the wonderful participants of course.

Hi ladies, as I live in Tai Po, is it possible for me to meet up in Tai Po instead of Kowloon?

    July 23

    • Carmela W.

Sure Jenna. I'll send you a message to discuss how to meet up with you in Taipo.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
