Psychoanalysis (精神分析学) was invented more than a hundred years ago by Austrian neurologist Sigmund Freud (西格蒙德·佛洛伊德). Initially, it was born as a "talking cure"; however, it is probably better described as a particular art of listening, and as such it cannot be simply confined in the consultation room.
Although psychoanalysis is almost absent in Hong Kong, we believe that it may be relevant for everyone.
This group wants to be a place for those interested in reading and discussing about psychoanalysis (mainly Freud, Lacan). All are welcome: clinicians, theorists, artists and beginners. No expertise or degree is required for participating.
This is not a singles group or a therapeutic group; this is a group for people who are curious about psychoanalysis, and about life. Normally we meet once a week, and we start by reading a seminar, then a conversation follows.
