DCC Session 2.05 - Cleaning House (or - Rodrik's all out of juice.)

Well, the librarians-in-training are attempting to work undercover to disrupt some bad happenings taking place in Varth. They managed to free 2 prisoners with no casualties to anyone. However, there was a leaked warning of an extreme act of violence about to occur soon. Can our want-to-be heroes infiltrate the gang well enough to head off the disaster? Or will the lure of easy money and power draw some members of the party to the dark side? Only time will tell, as this coming session, the adventurers will have to choose sides and draw their weapons. The huge fight expected last session has only been postponed, not avoided....

This is not a bad spot for new or intermittent players to jump on board, as there will in all likelihood be a raucous free-for-all battle as the players (maybe?) will attempt to "clean house" at the bandits' lair on the outskirts of Varth. This game has been going in the directions the players have been taking it to a large degree however, so nothing is certain....

Looking forward to seeing you girded for battle next Saturday.

Hi, with my wife doing traveling lately and sick daughter to nurse, I just can't put prep time deserved to have a great session on Sat. Not sure if I can even swing it if my wife's away like she may be. Safest to postpone now for your planning benefit. Went so quick had no cell at hospital. If my wife stays in town & my daughter recovers quickly,I'll hit Roll20 hard in next couple days. Before my daughter's illness, I had prepared map files and such to export to Roll20; I'll get those working and start working the forums to do pre-session RP. Been bedside vast stretches recently, but in mind working on encounters taking twists and turns that you may not expect. Looking to mesh old characters in soon. Looking to get pdfs of the Crawls up too. Barring relapse, will be in touch online from now.

If 11th doesn't work, let me know. Apologies, but real life on our Earth is interfering with historic events on Alturra. Apologies again. Thx for your hoped-for understanding

I don't think I can commit to attending future sessions. I usually have to work my weekend schedules weeks in advance to make room for the sessions, and the ad hoc cancellations/postponements always come 2-3 days before. The opportunity cost is just high for me.

    Have fun.

And I advice you to get real. You're dealing with adults. One starts a group KNOWING what issues you have to deal with in your life, and one deals with it like an adult. Just because you have a family (and why do I care about that again? Right I don't) doesn't make your time more valuable than anyone else's.

I am not committing myself to bi-weekly sessions that can turn into tri-weekly/monthly/bi-monthly on a 12hr notice. And I'm sure as hell not telling my friends ever again "oh dude sorry I can't join you on your boat trip because I MIGHT be playing RPG."

Nope. I can think of a million more efficient things I can do with my life. And THIS isn't worth my time.

Fact: There were weeks of intervals that could be used for preparations in between; and precautions mechanisms during the organization phrases that could be taken to prevent mis-scheduling. None of the above worked thanks to procrastination.

Fact: Whatever the reason(s) of postponement really doesn't make a difference to the fact that it's Saturday afternoons whose plans I regularly gave up to make way for appointments that may or may not come to fruition. I can understand the reluctant nature of it, except for...

Fact: This has happened repeatedly. More times than I can count and certainly past what is reasonably acceptable.

If by stating facts and not jumping to each other's defense out of knee-jerk reaction like a retarded fanboy I seem like a cunt to you, then a cunt I am. I have 2 middle fingers to go with it too.

Quick update: Sorry for lack of comm. Will make a determination on Saturday's session by later tonight. Spent better part of 2 days at hospital as daughter's been very sick. She's recovering now thankfully; High fevers such that we had to hit hospital Sunday. That is past thankfully, but just turning the corner. 3 nights of little sleep, caught up some last night/today. Will get back to you later tonight after kids are asleep. Thx.

My wife had to travel this week, so I wanted to wait for the all clear for next weekend before posting. Hoping to "Roll20" late tonight and throughout the weekend. Stay tuned to your Roll20 notifications. For any new/returning players, you can get up to speed on this coming session online over the coming week. Send me a PM if you want the info.
