Bonus Sunday Sailing for Meetup Only!

Due to popular demand, in addition to our Saturday sailing this weekend, we will have a Sunday Sailing as well for our Meetup crew! As we have grown to over 80 members, I want to give a chance for as many people to sail as possible. If we get 8 people or more we will hold this meetup.

Details:

Sailing on "Laughing Water" at La Marianna Sailing Club

Directions: The boat is at slip C-10 (dock closest to airport) at the La Marianna Sailing Club, located off Sand Island Access Rd. (Google it). There is a locked gate to enter the dock; if the gate is unlocked you may come aboard the boat and wait for us. One of us usually will check for folks at the gate about 15 minutes before the sailing time, (and then ask the last person to arrive to hold the gate open until the next crew-member arrives. If you are running late (no more than 15 minutes and phone Capnmike, we will wait for you. His Phone number is 780-9174. Please do not call him except to cancel or say you are running a few minutes late (or are lost). There are restrooms at the marina restaurant and we strongly suggest that you use them prior coming through the marina gate.

Please: BYOB and also BYOJ (Bring your own Joke). Capn Mike prefers Budweiser (and not Bud Light) and the crew will certainly appreciate if you bring some beer for them to enjoy.

Please DO NOT BRING any big coolers/backpacks/bags larger than 18"x18", and DO NOT bring any glass bottles.

Do bring: sun lotion, swimsuit/towel, jacket, hat, sunglasses (with keeper-cords), drinks, snacks, a few good jokes, and ice. It's OK to bring 1 large bottle (mixer or water) and 1 bottle of booze, or up to 24 cans of drink (no bottles). We currently do not have refrigeration, but plan to install it soon; till that happens a little extra ice is welcome.

Note: we require that you drink no more than one alcoholic drink per hour while sailing, (i.e no more than 3 drinks aboard during our regular sailings). Please keep in mind that being drunk on a boat is very hazardous to yourself, the boat, and to others aboard. Also: if you are offended by any particular jokes or comments, or hassled by anyone, aboard: please let us know AFTER the sailing; if we get more than 1 complaint about a particular joke/person/comment we'll try to rectify the irritation (without giving out your name). We try to keep the jokes/commentary relatively clean and entertaining, but if you are offended by most of the jokes/comments then sailing on "Laughing Water" is not for you.

As a reminder: we are asking folks to make a suggested $10 per person / per sailing donation by bringing it (in cash, in exact change) to us each time you sail. If you wish to become a regular and sail more frequently, please let us know as there may be space on our "regulars" list where you can choose which weekends you wish to sail ahead of time and get a guaranteed spot.

So it looks like somehow I signed up for both the Saturday and Sunday sailings this weekend. If that's a problem for me to have signed up for both, can you let me know Aaron and I'll remove myself from one of them? If it's not a problem, awesome, I love sailing and also can't wait to meet people.

Hey Tim, thanks for offering! Since there is one person on the waiting list Saturday, would you mind coming Sunday only?

      November 9, 2012

    • Tim

Sure, no problem. I just cancelled my RSVP for Saturday and now signed up only for Sunday

Yeah I think I was that one person waiting for Saturday and I don't know how that happened because I can't make Saturday at all. I'm on for Sunday though so it's all good. I was wondering what the chances of another spot on Sunday opening up were? My brother is now interested in coming. If someone cancels could you please let me know? Is there some way I can put him on a waiting list?

Hey fellow Coloradoan! I didn't get signed up early enough and am in the waitlist too. I was living in Denver before I came here. How long you visiting?
