Welcome New Members & Meetup Update

Please join me in welcoming several new members to the group. Sorry for the delay in welcoming you new folks but other duties kept me away for a few weeks.

NOTE TO ASSISTANT ORGANIZERS: Let me know if you're not getting word of new members joining. We don't want let new folks slip through the cracks or miss someone that might like to pitch in with suggestions or host a meeting.

You should all get two messages from me today. The one later will be from the Meetup Alliance your group was enrolled in. Sadly, Meetup.com has decided to discontinue the alliances. It was a great concept and I'm sad to see it go away. It's bad news for me and the groups I agreed to sponsor while they reorganized.

I'd encourage old and new folks alike to hold a Meetup soon. It would be nice for members to meet one another and compare notes. If there is anything you need from me to facilitate that, just let me know. I'm noticing some members haven't visited our site for a while. We hope you'll check in more often. Don't forget, meetup.com purges members that don't visit their groups after a certain length of time. We don't have any control over that.
