Thursday Meetup for Beginner Tennis Players

This Meetup is open to all people who are new to tennis and want to learn this wonderful sport. Anyone with a skill level of 0.0 (knows absolutely nothing about tennis) up through 3.0 (knows a little but wants to learn more) is welcome to attend this Meetup.  If you are an advanced tennis player (3.0 and up), please check out our Tuesday Advanced Meetup or our Friday Advanced Meetup.

The atmosphere that we will strive for is:

•  Relaxed and friendly

•  Fun and enjoyable

•  "No pressure" self paced learning

For more information on tennis player skill ratings, go to 'Pages' on this site and then select 'Tennis Player Ratings'.

Anyone wishing to assist with the instructional aspects of this Beginners Meetup, please contact Sieg Dugas through this site.

Your Event Host's thoughts on the evening:

First, I'd like to welcome Mohammed as our newest member. It was nice meeting you Mohammed and I hope you enjoyed visiting our group.

On court #9 we had this Event Host, Kate, Vivian, and Sheena. We worked on the basics as well as an introduction to net play. We intended to work on lobs but didn't quite get to it. Occasionally we lobbed a ball but it might not have been on purpose ;-)

On court #10 we had Tammy, Mohammed, Jeal, and Terry. This group worked primarily on backhand strokes and serving. They also worked on perfecting Sieg's number 1 rule... and that is to have fun. I think they've just about got it right :-)

I'd like to thank everyone for their patience with me as I learn to be a tennis instructor. Thank you also for your dedication to learning this wonderful sport and for having fun doing it. You're a great group.

    Sieg's Weekly Tennis Quiz

The server has served before the receiver was ready. This is:
    A.) Really bad tennis etiquette.
B.) A fault if the first serve, a double fault if the second serve.
    C.) A let.

The answer to last week's quiz is: 'B'

Thank you Kate, Lavonne, Jeal, and Sheena, for taking last week's quiz!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
