Stop by and see one of the perennial favorites for midnight movies and drive-ins the horror cult classic “House on Haunted Hill.” This is the original (1959) with the campy and creepy but congenial host Vincent Price. Story: This is no ordinary house and quite spooky with previous tenets who have died. The mansion has a reputation of being haunted. Eccentric Millionaire Frederick Loren (Price) offers five people $ 10,000 each if they can spend the night and make it to 8am in the morning. If they don’t make it their next of kin will receive the money. The guests all arrive in Hearse cars. They each receive a handgun for protection stored in miniature coffins. At midnight the doors are locked and no one may enter or exit the house. No access to phones either. The guests are trapped and the terror and scares begin. The screams are top notch. The movie is directed by William Castle. Take a look at the movie trailer below with your invitation from the master himself Mr. Price. – DO YOU DARE ENTER
It will be shown at my place in Alexandria, VA on my 60 inch HDTV with 5.1 surround sound. If members are up to it we can see the remake that was done 40 years later as the second feature – to be determined. I have both movies. I live a half block from Huntington Metro station. My address and cell/text number will be sent to you via email one day prior to event. I will have some food/drinks but you are welcome to bring your own. I don’t have too much space so limit is 5 members plus myself.
